The Selene 92 Explorer was launched Monday, September 7th, 2015 adjacent to Jet-Tern’s shipyard in Zhuhai, China. She is sitting beautifully in the water and being readied for sea trials. The proud Canadian owners were on site for the champagne christening and also witnessed this launch.
The Selene Explorer 92 represents a pinnacle of explorer yacht design and functionality, exuding an aura of sublime elegance while exhibiting rugged full blue ocean capability and superb stability.
Powered by twin MTU 475hp engines, the Selene Explorer 92 has a cruising speed of 10 knots and a range of approx 3500 nautical miles. These robust performance capacities mean that owners and guests can enjoy near complete freedom of the seas, from the far reaches of the polar regions to the exotic seclusion of the South Pacific, and often in places that others may find practically inaccessible. All the while, owners, guests and any crew remain ensconced in the supreme comfort and seaworthiness that Selenes always provide.
The Selene Explorer 92’s exterior styling and interior design were created by famed designer Guido de Groot with a modernized yet classic sensibility. The interior utilizes rich walnut and mahogany woodworking throughout. Meanwhile, with four spacious guest cabins including a luxurious owner’s cabin, a magnificent salon, a gourmet kitchen, a glamorous fly bridge with a bar, nice U shape settee with Jacuzzi at fore deck, a separate galley for crew and captain cabin at aft, and many other sophisticated accoutrements, this new Selene will immediately set a new standard for ocean capable motor yachts.
Building on Selene’s established first class reputation for comfort and reliability, Selene Yachts is also set to expand its fleet of super yacht explorer class vessels with not only this new 92, but with two new Selene Explorer 103 class vessels. Orders have been received for these two yachts and they are scheduled for owner delivery in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
