A well-maintained 2006 Selene 40 trawler, refitted through 2025 and 2026, lying in Croatia and ready to cruise.

Two cabins and four berths on 13.77 metres, with two heads and a shower, 2,200 litres of fuel and 700 of water. A single Cummins QSB 5.9 of 330 hp on shaft drive, 8 knots cruising and 10 maximum, with 1,340 hours recorded.

The equipment list is a cruising list rather than a coastal one: Wesmar stabilisers, generator and inverter, watermaker, bow and stern thrusters, electric windlass, air conditioning and heating, washer-dryer and dishwasher, and a Raymarine suite with autopilot, chartplotter, radar and AIS.

A major refit was carried out in 2025 and 2026: new thrusters, new batteries and solar, updated navigation electronics and new galley appliances. It is described by the yard as in very good condition, and CE marked Category B.

What you can get

Key features of the Selene 40

Wesmar hydraulic stabilisers

Fitted from new and gone through in the refit — the valves and the hydraulic pump were both replaced — so 18.6 tonnes stays level in a beam sea rather than rolling through it.

Sleipner bow and stern thrusters

Both new in the 2025–26 refit: 13.77 m turns on the spot and goes into a finger berth single-handed.

Single Cummins QSB 5.9, 330 hp

1,340 hours recorded on a shaft drive rated for far more, and one engine to maintain rather than two — 8 knots cruising, 10 flat out.

Full-displacement GRP hull, CE Category B

The same round-bilge hull form as the current Classic Explorers, certified for offshore passages rather than coastal hops.

2,200 litres of fuel

Enough at a displacement 8 knots to leave the marinas and the fuel docks out of the planning for weeks at a time.

Mastervolt lithium house system

New in the refit: a 3,000 W inverter-charger, a 60 A MPPT controller and two 420 W panels on a purpose-made stainless frame, so the nights at anchor do not need the generator.

Raymarine helm, refitted

Two E120 displays and an E80, twin autopilots, radar, AIS, wind and Tridata instruments, with an Icom M510 VHF and a remote station on the flybridge.

Sea Recovery watermaker, 100 l/h

Refurbished in the refit, and it makes more in a day than the 700-litre tank holds — the other thing that keeps you off the dock.

Muir windlass and 21 kg Ultra anchor

New, with stainless chain: the ground tackle a full-displacement boat needs if she is going to sit out a blow where she is.

Galley and laundry, all new

Vitrifrigo fridge-freezer, Electrolux induction hob, Bosch dishwasher and a Haier washer-dryer — a boat you can live on, not just cruise.

Air conditioning and heating

Both, with pressurised hot and cold water: two cabins and four berths that work in an Adriatic August and a shoulder-season passage alike.

Sentinel remote monitoring

Bilges, batteries and shore power reported to a phone, which is what makes leaving her on her own between trips a reasonable thing to do.

Equipment as recorded at listing, including the 2025–26 refit. Ask us for the survey and the full inventory.
