Founder Howard Chen established Selene in 1998 on a simple premise: that a production yacht could be built to the standard of a one-off, if the yard cared enough to do it. More than 450 Selene yachts are in use around the world today, and the emphasis on handcrafted quality paired with genuine technical innovation has not moved since the first hull left the shed.
Selene Yachts Europe are Selene EU dealers, covering the European market. We handle specification, build supervision, delivery, commissioning and lifetime support — so an owner in the Adriatic, the Med, the Atlantic coast or the Baltic deals with a team on their own continent, in their own time zone.

Almost every Selene is a full-displacement, ocean-capable explorer — the ranges differ in how you want to live aboard while you cross. The exception is the new Ocean Express, which would rather get there first.

Yes, and we encourage it. Owners are welcome at key stages of construction, and we coordinate the visit, the timing and the walkthrough with the yard on your behalf.
A trawler is a full-displacement motor yacht designed to travel efficiently at modest speeds over very long distances. Instead of burning fuel to climb onto a plane, the hull stays in the water and the fuel goes into range, comfort and sea-keeping. For anyone who wants to cross oceans, cruise for months at a time, or simply not think about the weather window, it is the rational choice.
The combination of a genuinely ocean-rated structure — full keel, watertight bulkheads, commercially rated machinery, CE Category A — with joinery and finish work usually found on one-off builds, at a production price. And an owner community that is unusually active and unusually generous with what it knows.
